Monday September 13, 2010

The City of Waterloo has been my home for going on 22 years now and I feel so comfortable as I walk around and meet people. This morning I walked the route to a number of houses. People are very welcoming. On my way back, I stopped at variety stores, introduced myself and got many "thumbs up."
It feels gratifying to think that I could be representing every segment of stratum of this incomparable City.
There is so much I want to do, but foremost in my mind is the thought of how much I want to help people.
Help them get jobs, help them to have their taxes controlled, help them to realize their dreams, and help them to simply become...whatever they want to be.
I know that the more I help, the greater the joy I feel.
It's a pragmatic notion also, because a happy andsatisfied citizenry is not only to my advantage, but everyone’s

I guess the only peeve I had today was trying to get the data plan for my Blackberry upgraded. It took so much time away from meeting people and the problem still isn't fixed.
That's a minor issue though, because on such a gorgeous day, nothing could change the exhilaration I felt.
Thank you for being so gracious, everyone.
